About the Race: They call themselves Nymphs, but that is only half true. They are a race of half spirits. their ally female and their blood has become tainted with that of other races, mostly humans, since that is what they most look like.
History of the Race: planet sprites that protect nature, females mate with strangers and have female children.
They made their homes in medows, forests and streams, living in the forever changing world that, at times, seemed alien to them.
Man began to search for more places in which they might settle, and in the process the spirit's line began to mix with the blood of man, creating the half nymphs.
Once in a while some of their own beings leave, to live, but never look like a human...
Race Appearance:
Dryades: Nymph of the woods. They live in homes hanging from the trees, much like the weaver bird. They tend to have green or brown skin and white hair. They have brown eyes, thin willowy bodies. They are relatively tall, taller than most humans anyway. A dryad can travel anywhere, as long as it brings a twig of the tree it has been dedicated to with it. Their powers rest with the trees, with whom they may talk to, control, and grow.
Naiades: Nymphs of the water. The live in and around streams, rivers or lakes. They can talk with and control the water. They tend to have blue skin and white hair, bright blue or purple eyes, and thin bodies, making it easier for them to swim. They have a little bit of healing powers, which they can only use on other people, never themselves. Thats why they travel in pairs.
Nereides: Nymphs of the oceans and seas (they are the same as the naiades, only nereieds like salt water rather than fresh)
Limniads: Swamp nymphs. (the same as naiades, only prefering the swamps. They tend to be dark hair and dark eyed, and have brown (like and africa) or black skin, and like the night)
Napaea: Nymphs of the valleys or meadows. They usuallt spend their day skipping around the grassy meadows (or valleys) singing, or making flower ringlets for their heads. They are naturally fun loving creatures who love the sun and the earth. They have the ability to speak in any language, to any creature. They are blonde haired blue eyed and green skinned creatures who can usually be seen in white.
Weaknesses: They, like every other living being, can bu hurt by disease, starvation, drought, war, famine, ect. They can be hurt or killed like everyone else.
