Character's Appearance: Torem stands at only 5’ 4”. Her weight is similarly diminutive, as she weighs in at just above 100 pounds. She is very thin and fragile looking. Her skin is the dark brown of the Limniad race. Her hair is black, smooth, and kept at shoulder length. Her eyes are large and brown and portray an innocence that is in no means found in her personality. Her face is the same way, smooth and young looking with small features that look naïve and inexperienced. Her hair falls down in front of her face just a little, stopping about when it meets her eyebrows. She usually pushes it to the left to keep it out of the way.
The clothes she wears are a little more serious. The dark grey, almost black of her leather brings a more solemn tone. Her uniform is functional more than flashy. The cloak she wears usually conceals her body and defiantly hides her face almost all the time. The only thing she carriers besides clothing is the body shield that she owns. Having no real physical fortitude, she needs to be able to defend her self effectively. The shield is oval in shape, with a point at both ends. It is black, and has decorative gold around the edges, and the color meets in the middle to form an elaborate circle of design.
Character's Personality: Torem lives in a world of ideas and strategic planning. She values intelligence, knowledge, and competence, and has high standards for herself in these areas. And has similar standards for others. Her mind is constantly on observing the world and generating ideas and possibilities from her observations. Her mind constantly gathers information and makes associations about it. She is very insightful and quick to understand new ideas. But she is not so worries about understanding these concepts as she is applying them.
Torem is a natural leader, but chooses to stay in the background until she is needed. When she is in a leadership role, she is quite effective, as she is able to see the reality of a situation, and adaptable enough to change things that aren’t working.
Other people may have a hard time understanding Torem, as she appears aloof and reserved. She does not overly demonstrate their affections, and often does not give as much praise as others may desire or need. That does not mean she does not feel affection for others, just that she does not feel the need to express it as often. Others may perceive her to be rigid and set in her ways, but nothing could be farther from the truth. She is always open to suggestions on how to do things differently.
Character's History: Torem was born a nymph on a day so full of heat the air felt heavier. The swamps were no place for that either. The full weather made it a day that was not pleasing in any way, only miserable for every living thing on earth. She was born innocent and naïve. Her imagination brought her much entertainment through the years of living in the swamp. Not much happened in there, no one entered, and she sure didn’t leave either.
The first time she came across another person, nymph instinct took over her. They spent the night together, and she had a child. She was changed, but not much. She was changed more when she finally left the swamp.
The world flowed over her. He innocence was lost to the cruelty of the real world. Her imagination was not truly lost though, only put to new means. She was able to flourish in this new world. She never had to work a day in her life. He appearance and quick mind got her everything that she wanted.
She started to learn her magic from an old man that was very experienced in the ways. She had no reason for learning it other than it intrigued her. That was the only real reason that she continued to learn it also. Her mentor died of old age before anything else was able to affect him. His work was continued by Torem who now was almost as adept in the art as he had been. This was the first real work she had ever done in her life.
Many years had passed now, and, unsurprisingly, she had mothered more children. She was able to better control her impulses now. She had adopted a more serious composure.
The adventurous spirit in her that had led her to leave the swamp also motivated her to leave the city. Now she was able to competently protect herself, and she understood much more than when she had entered the city. She was now just eager for excitement and entertainment that she meant to find on her travels.
