Character's Appearance: Meraxa is a teen who stands at about 5 feet and 6 inches. His body is muscular and well developed, with a four pack set of abs. His hair is short, coloured a light brown, though much of it is kept under a bandanna save for the fringe. His eyes are also brown, and at first glance seem to be those of an innocent young boy with a lot of free time on his hands. However look deep enough and you can find hints of deception. His nose and mouth are equally short to each other, no matter how many words come out of the latter.
He wears a black short sleeved shirt that is obviously far too big for him; however that is because he uses the large size to hide his bag and what it has in it. This includes paper cartridges - which are essentially bullets and the gunpowder wrapped into a single package for easy use – a compass, his money, and various other trinkets of no real value. Oh and his pistol, can’t forget the pistol. His trousers however unlike his shirt fit him perfectly, are easy to move in and comfortable all in one nice deal. His boots similarly work wonders for his feet compared to the way he used to walk around barefoot all the time, and match his fingerless gloves, though those have been worn in for some time now. To finish it off is a light jacket, though the materials to it are rather cheap, with holes popping up in places.
Character's Personality: Meraxa knows what kind of world he’s in, and makes light of the fact he does despite his age. He knows that in BlueHaven, whoever rules the waves rules the world, it’s a simple fact. Afterall, society only survives because of the trade routes that span between the islands, and who controlled the waters in those routes subsequently controlled the islands. Control all of them, and you were lord and master. Of course he has no interest in ruling the world, who would? It meant he’d have to sit behind a desk filing papers on what people should and shouldn’t do, when to be honest he’d much rather just let the current king do it, and make a profit where he can out of the old geezer’s decisions.
He’s generally relaxed and calm about things, despite the fact that being a pirate means his life is potentially in danger every second from the navy, assassins, and of course – other pirates. Maybe it’s because he’s used to it by this point. He is also oddly fair to women unlike most males, but this might be because his mother was one so scary and powerful that just thinking about what she’d do if he ever did something to incur her wrath, and thus takes caution in the knowledge that all women could be capable of her ferocity. However when he is about to raid a merchant or navy ship (the latter being more likely only if he’s somehow found a way to con a crew into helping him), he gets extremely excitable. He won’t kill anyone if he can help it, though it’s very hard for him to control himself during such moments, and he does find the smell of blood... tingling. The only thing more stimulating than blood at these times is treasure. Gold, silver, rubies, sapphires, doesn’t matter what it’s made of, but treasure is whatever’s valuable, and he likes the valuable.
Character's History: Meraxa’s family is a long running tradition of piracy, dating all the way back to before the great flooding, back when BlueHaven was known as EverGreen. Piracy before then had been rare and difficult, as ships were rarely used due to pretty much anywhere on the map being a place you could just walk to. After however, was another story. Suddenly ships were being deployed all over to reconnect the islands that formed, ships that were easy to plunder. And thus began the Delwas family’s descent into the history books.
Cue several generations later, and you have Meraxa Delwas VII/the 7th. Born in the family’s personal hideout island, inhabited only by the Delwas’ themselves and the crews that they have assembled over the years. It’s become tradition for the family to be pirates, and Meraxa follows that tradition closely, because it was either that or be hung, drawn, and quartered. As such he was trained from a young age in sea based tactics and warfare, taught the ways of the sword, and becoming the first to be trained in the ways of the gun. It was during the midst of this training that Meraxa’s mother taught the boy to respect woman wherever he went... by scaring him with horrors that the mere thought of her is enough to make him stand stiff.
By the time he’d gotten to 14 years of age, he’d completed his training, and was all set to go to sea in a mighty ship with a mighty crew, and make a profit through misfortune. In—stead he got shoved into a barrel with a couple jugs of rum (something he’s been oddly able to avoid getting drunk off it despite drinking so much) and a few pears to avoid scurvy. Luckily after a couple of days he was found by a merchant ship. And a couple of days after that, the merchant ship arrived back in port piloted by a boy who sold off the contents for a solid 400gp, which he would he spend later that week buying various items. And yet it only took a couple of hours before a wanted poster was commissioned for the boy, the charges: Manslaughter of 27 unarmed merchants.
